The Copeland Collective are off to do a residency on Rathlin Island in preparation for our next exhibition, The Fifth Wave.
Delighted to say I've been invited for a residency at Ballinglen, Co. Mayo. The landscape and archeology of this wild place well suits my practice and I can't wait to be let loose! Really chuffed to be selected.
2 new sculptures have been selected for the 3rd year for ForM Sculpture exhibition. These are two site specific pieces positioned in the winter and summer gardens on the exact coordinates for the Winter and Summer Solstice, tracking the sun's path overhead.
A collaborative partnership has been agreed with Mount Stewart, a National Trust property on the Ards peninsula. i will be using materials from the gardens to make a exclusive pit fired collection. This pushes the history of the estate back to its Bronze age roots.

2 Moon Drinkers selected for Ceramics Ireland Select members' Exhibition in Dublin
Through Creative Momentum, promoting the new Creative Trials app at the FE McWilliams Gallery and the following day, guest speaker at a symposium connected with the touring exhibition Ceramics and its Dimensions.
Invited to have my work included with the Heritage Collection at The Portico in Portaferry. This is an amazing collection including pottery finds from Millin Bay, the inspiration behind my standing stone incense boxes. A lovely restored building with live performances, may Bank Holiday weekend being broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
2017 will see me working towards my first solo show in September. This opportunity inspires new work but will still be site specific and of course a collaboration with the elements. Loft Gallery
"Out of the Fire" pit fired sculpture has been selected for ForM at the Walled Garden in Bangor. Materials from the garden were used as fuel for this site specific piece.
The Copeland Collective have been selected to show at Bangor Museum on Oct/Nov so another trip to the island is called for! "Fourth Wave"
To end 2016, Bogland Portal and Diastrophic Quartz, Turf and Slate were all selected for Ceramic Ireland's Juried Exhibition showing at The Pearse Museum in Dublin.
Bogland ware was selected for the newly opened Seamus Heaney Museum, HomePlace and through this association i was asked to design and make a Bogland lectern for the new Helicon Theatre. It was in place for the opening week of events. It was quite a privilege to have the late Noble Prize winner's wife, Marie Heaney read her speech from the lectern.
Very excited to be asked to join the North Down Craft Collective as a new permanent maker. I have worked as a guest crafter in the past and have always enjoyed the fun company of other amazing and talented maker designers. This now means I have a regular venue every 2nd Saturday of the month at the Old School House in Holywood. The fair is always well supported and has become a regular shopping venue for those looking for high quality craft.
Happy to say I'll be representing Northern Ireland at the Urkult Festival in Sweden selected by My Creative Edge. Along with other makers from Iceland, Finland and Norway we will be selling our craft at this festival. 4th- 6th Aug

I was one of the 12 Artists Marooned on the Copeland Bird Oservatory Project through Ards and North Down Borough Council. Amazing sunny weekend in the company of a diverse bunch of artists and hosted by the very knowledgable Wesley and Geoff. A body of new work is underway to go on an evolving touring exhibition. We have decided to form the Copeland Collective with the view to continuing to exhibit together in the future.
BBC The Arts Show came to film my studio and a Bogland Bowl being made. I've been nominated as "One to Watch in 2016". Available on BBC iPlayer
