Service Description
Bronze Age Connections- Crafting the Past Along the North Antrim coast, examples of these little enigmatic pots have been discovered. Dating from the Bronze Age, they contain burnt wood and can be highly decorated. They usually have 2 holes near the rim that no-one has been able to work what they were for... The incredible landscape of the Causeway Coast is made up of layers of limestone, basalt and red ochre. People have a long history of using ochre for body paint, cave paintings and decorating pots. Join this workshop to decorate 2 incense pots. Make your own ochre paint. Using ochre and paper resists, decorate your own pots inspired by local Bronze Age designs. Fix your designs by using a blow torch and sawdust. This is a 2 hour experience. All materials, two 7cm x 10cm approx ceramic pots, refreshments and tray bakes are included. No experience needed.
